May The Face Of God Shine Down Upon UsGreetings Reader The Israelites experienced many ups and downs in their spiritual walk. The song that makes up Psalm 80 contains the following verse three times: Turn us again to yourself, O Lord God of Heaven's Armies. Make your face shine down upon us. Only then will we be saved. Most Christians also experience ups and downs in their spiritual walk with the Lord. When some of them find themselves in the valley of despair, they become spiritual casualties because they try to get back to the mountain top on their own. The Psalmist knew they needed God's help to get back to where they needed to be. So, he prayed to the Lord: Show us your mighty power. Come to rescue us!
