That may sound like a strange question, but the Bible uses the picture of a fragrance to describe a life that pleases Him. Our devotion begins with a woman pouring expensive perfume upon Jesus. While others criticized her and called it a waste, Jesus saw something entirely different. From there, we will look at what Paul meant when he wrote: “Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God.” 2 Corinthians 2:15 We can become so concerned about what other people think of us that we forget the One we should desire to please the most. What matters is that the fragrance of Christ rises from our lives to God. In today’s devotion, we’ll see how love, sacrifice, and obedience can make our lives a pleasing aroma to Him.
