God Will Pour Out His Holy Spirit on All PeopleGreetings Reader Before Jesus returned to heaven, He gave His followers a tremendous responsibility—to take the gospel to the world. But He never expected them to accomplish that mission on their own. God promised through the prophet Joel: “In the last days,” God says, “I will pour out my Spirit upon all people.” Acts 2:17 On the Day of Pentecost, Peter announced that God was fulfilling that promise. The Holy Spirit empowered ordinary people to become witnesses for Jesus Christ. We still have a world to reach today. Some people have little interest in church. Others may want nothing to do with Christianity. But that doesn't change the mission Jesus gave us, and we don't have to accomplish it through our own abilities. The Holy Spirit is still working through God's people. Today’s devotion looks at the promise of the Holy Spirit, the new covenant, and the part each of us has in sharing Jesus with those around us. God Bless,

What an encouraging promise! But...
How Can Love Be Always and Never? Greetings Reader We use the words “always” and “never” quite often, especially when we're upset with someone. “You always do this.” “You never listen to me.” “You never take me seriously.” But in 1 Corinthians 13, Paul used those words very differently when he described biblical love. “Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” 1 Corinthians 13:7 That sounds wonderful, but it also presents us with a...
Seek Forgiveness Of Sins Through Prayer Greetings Reader The forgiveness of our sins is very important. Thankfully, through Jesus, we don’t have to wonder whether forgiveness is available when we turn to Him. Today’s devotion comes from Solomon’s prayer in 2 Chronicles 6 and God’s response in chapter 7. It includes a verse many Christians know well: Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from...
