Christian Perspectives - Good Friday, The Day Jesus Was Crucified

Good Friday, The Day Jesus Was Crucified

Greetings Reader

After Jesus gathered with His disciples for the Passover meal, they went to the Mount of Olives to pray. The Lord knew His time was at hand. He also knew what lay in store for Him within the next twenty-four hours.

That next day, He went through a very gruesome experience with each of us in mind. The most important word He uttered that entire day was "Tetelestai." It is pronounced like this (ta-tell'-es-ty). This word was often stamped on a receipt of payment to signify one's debt had been fully paid. Jesus shouted it out just before He died. We translate this word as -"It is finished."

We can be thankful that Jesus died on Friday because we celebrate His resurrection on Sunday. Have a happy Easter as you join others to worship our resurrected Savior on Easter Sunday morning.

God Bless

Robin

How To Be Right With God Greetings Reader One day, at the right time, God will end everything as we know it. Many will spend eternity in Heaven with Him, but sadly, many, many more won't. Who will go where? When writing to the Roman Church, the Apostle Paul quoted Isaiah, who said, "Though the people of Israel are as numerous as the sand of the seashore, only a remnant will be saved." Recently we had the carpet replaced in our house. Upon finishing the job, the installers left us with a small...

Do It God's Way For Eternal Results Greetings Reader While in the wilderness, the Israelites often moved. In the Book of Numbers, Moses gave them specific instructions on how to break camp by doing it God's way. Once in the Old Testament, a young man reached over to keep the Ark of the Covenant from falling off a cart. Because no one was to touch the Ark, he died right on the spot. In the New Testament, we must also do things God's way. In the story of the ten virgins, five didn't make it...

Have You Seen Signs And Wonders From God? Greetings Reader We all like to see the spectacular, especially when God reveals signs and wonders to us. We can read about His miraculous acts throughout scripture and even see some today. In Exodus God revealed His salvation to the Israelites while exhibiting His power to the Egyptians. Another significant life-changing sign and wonder came when He sent a great flood but saved one family to continue humanity joined by all the varieties of animals....
