Banished From God's PresenceGreetings Reader Tomorrow is Election Day here in the United States, and I want to make something clear from the beginning. Today's devotion is in no way political. Instead, we're going to look at a historical account from the Bible that teaches us an important lesson about leadership and its influence on a nation. King Manasseh led Judah down a path of idolatry and disobedience. His decisions didn't affect only his own life. They influenced an entire nation and contributed to consequences that continued long after his reign. As we consider Judah's history, we'll quickly discover why choosing leaders for our country is important. We'll also see why the Bible encourages Christians to pray for those in authority. But there's another lesson in this devotion that reaches beyond national leadership. It concerns our personal relationship with God and the importance of remaining faithful to Him. I invite you to read “Banished From God's Presence.” It's a reminder that we can learn valuable lessons from history when we take time to consider what God's Word teaches us. I invite you to read today's devotion. God Bless,

When Jesus Healed Ten Lepers Greetings Reader In the Gospels, we read about many occasions when Jesus healed people, and you can be assured that not all His healings were recorded. Some accounts appear in more than one Gospel, but the story of Jesus healing ten lepers is recorded only in Luke. A Samaritan is the focal point of this story, which is interesting because Jewish people generally didn't like Samaritans. Yet this man was one of the ten who received healing, and he was the only one...
God Will Pour Out His Holy Spirit on All People Greetings Reader Before Jesus returned to heaven, He gave His followers a tremendous responsibility—to take the gospel to the world. But He never expected them to accomplish that mission on their own. God promised through the prophet Joel: “In the last days,” God says, “I will pour out my Spirit upon all people.” Acts 2:17 On the Day of Pentecost, Peter announced that God was fulfilling that promise. The Holy Spirit empowered ordinary people to...
Believe God for More Than You Can Imagine Greetings Reader Have you ever faced a situation that seemed impossible? Maybe you've prayed for a family member, hoped for an unexpected opportunity, or dreamed about what God could accomplish through your church. Paul gives us this wonderful word of encouragement in Ephesians 3:20: Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. What an encouraging promise! But...
