Christian Perspectives - Can You Have Perfect Peace in an Imperfect Situation?

Experience Perfect Peace in an Imperfect Situation

Greetings Reader

Have you ever left a church service encouraged by the message, only to discover that the situation waiting for you hadn’t changed?

The bills were still there. The family problem still needed attention. The difficult decision still had to be made. Whatever concerned you before church was waiting for you afterward.

That’s one reason I appreciate Paul’s benediction in 2 Thessalonians:

“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation.”
2 Thessalonians 3:16

Notice that Paul didn’t promise peaceful circumstances. He promised that the Lord of peace can give us His peace in your situation.

In today’s devotion, we’ll look at what Isaiah and Paul tell us about experiencing God’s peace when life around us is anything but peaceful. We’ll also look at a practical biblical response for those times when worry begins taking over our thoughts.

You don't have to wait for your situation to become perfect before you can experience God's peace.

Take the time to read today’s devotion.

God Bless,

Robin

Sing For Joy And Exalt God's Wonderful Name Greetings Reader Psalm 92 carries a rare distinction. Scripture identifies it as “a Psalm to be sung on the Sabbath day.” It begins with thanksgiving and praise, but as I studied it, I realized this Psalm gives us some very practical reasons to sing for joy. You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me! I sing for joy because of what you have done. Psalm 92:4 Sometimes our circumstances don't give us much to sing about. We may even look around...

Be Careful Not to Criticize Someone's Ministry Greetings Reader Have you ever felt certain that someone else wasn't doing ministry the way they should? Early in our marriage, Cindy and I answered God's call to enter full-time children's evangelistic ministry. Much to our surprise, not everyone encouraged us. Some people questioned our decision, while others openly criticized it. Thankfully, we followed God's direction instead of allowing those voices to stop us. The Lord gave us eight...

Don't Let the Enemy Stop the Work God Gave You Greetings Reader Have you ever allowed discouragement to make you question something God called you to do? While Nehemiah and the people rebuilt Jerusalem's wall, Tobiah mocked their work. He claimed that even a fox walking across the wall would cause it to collapse. Think about that for a moment. A fox is incredibly light on its feet. Yet the enemy used an absurd statement to try to discourage God's people and stop their work. The enemy still...
