Sing For Joy And Exalt God's Wonderful NameGreetings Reader Psalm 92 carries a rare distinction. Scripture identifies it as “a Psalm to be sung on the Sabbath day.” It begins with thanksgiving and praise, but as I studied it, I realized this Psalm gives us some very practical reasons to sing for joy. You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me! I sing for joy because of what you have done. Psalm 92:4 Sometimes our circumstances don't give us much to sing about. We may even look around and see people who have little regard for God seemingly prospering while faithful Christians struggle. Psalm 92 tells us not to be fooled by what we see. The wicked may flourish for a season, but God's people are planted in something much deeper. The Psalmist compared the godly to palm trees and the mighty cedars of Lebanon. He even said that in old age, they will continue producing fruit and remain vital and green. That's encouraging at any age! In today's devotion, we'll see how praise strengthens our faith, why we can trust God when evil seems to prosper, and how staying rooted in Christ allows us to continue flourishing through every season of life.
