Praise Him, You Who Serve The LordGreetings Reader Are you called to serve the Lord? If so, the Psalmist has a command for you in Psalm 135: “Praise the Lord! Praise the name of the Lord! Praise him, you who serve the Lord, you who serve in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God. Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; celebrate his lovely name with music.” Psalm 135:1–3 While God desires everyone’s praise, there is something special about the praise that comes from those who faithfully serve Him. And near the end of this passage, the Psalmist gives us a wonderful reason to praise God: because the Lord is good. Sometimes, when we are busy serving the Lord, we can become so focused on what we are doing for Him that we forget to stop and praise Him for who He is. Today’s devotion looks at the first seven verses of Psalm 135 and reminds us why those who serve the Lord should also be people who praise the Lord. I hope this devotion encourages you today.
