Christian Perspectives - Why God Calls Us Out of Our Comfort Zone

Why God Calls Us Out of Our Comfort Zone

Greetings Reader

Have you ever wondered why God asks us to step outside our comfort zone?

Most of us assume it's so our faith will grow—and that's certainly true. But there is another reason we often overlook. Sometimes God moves us beyond what feels safe because someone else needs to experience His love through our obedience.

In today's devotion, I look at an often-overlooked detail in the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman. While the disciples ventured into a Samaritan village, Jesus remained at the well for a life-changing conversation with a woman everyone else avoided. That encounter reminds us that God often redirects our plans to reach someone who desperately needs hope.

I also share a personal lesson I learned years ago from an older pastor whose simple words challenged my thinking about comfort, sacrifice, and serving others.

I hope this devotion encourages you to recognize the opportunities God places in front of you—even when they lead beyond your comfort zone. Enjoy today's devotion and may the Lord continue to guide your steps as you faithfully follow Him.

In Him,

Robin

Many of us will be able to identify with this Psalm. We know that the Lord is the source of our salvation, but sometimes our lives and our country don't reflect that. Even though this Psalm points to Israel, it also includes our homeland and Christians. The Psalmist said in verse 1, Lord, you poured out blessings...

God’s Call For Justice In A Broken World Greetings Reader Psalm 82 speaks with urgency into a world that groans under injustice. Only by putting our faith into action can we answer God’s call for justice. He will hold us accountable for how we answer that call or if we don't. Through this devotion, we can apply His call in the following ways. By examining your influence on others. Defending the vulnerable, which includes protecting and restoring the poor and helpless. Rejecting passive faith....

Jesus Became Our Ultimate Sacrifice Greetings Reader What qualifies Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice for all eternity? Our verse for today sheds some light on that answer. It says that with His own blood He entered the Holy of Holies and secured our salvation. In the Old Testament, except for the few people that God spoke directly to, the Holy of Holies was the closest anyone could get to God. But only the High Priest could enter into His presence and only after he was cleansed and made a...
