Are You Fulfilling God’s Purpose for Your Life?Greetings Reader For several years, Cindy and I traveled from church to church as children’s evangelists. We carried puppets, visual stories, music equipment, and just about everything else we needed for our Kid’s Crusades. And it all had to fit into one van! I had packing that van down to a science. Everything had a particular container, and every container had a particular place. If things weren't loaded in the right order, they simply wouldn't fit. People were often eager to help us, and I appreciated them. But sometimes a well-meaning person could actually make the job more difficult simply because they didn't know where something belonged. Years later, a verse in Numbers reminded me of those experiences. “Whenever it is time for the Tabernacle to move, the Levites will take it down. And when it is time to stop, they will set it up again.” Numbers 1:51 God had given the Levites a specific assignment. That verse contains an important truth for us: You don't fulfill God's purpose for your life by trying to do everything. You fulfill His purpose by faithfully doing what He has called you to do. The Bible says, “All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.” 1 Corinthians 12:27 That means you have a place. God has given you abilities, experiences, opportunities, and spiritual gifts that He can use for His kingdom. Your assignment may not look like someone else's—and it isn't supposed to. In this week's devotion, we'll look at how you can recognize and faithfully fulfill God's purpose for your life. God Bless,
