Christian Perspectives - How Wonderful When We Live Together In Harmony

How Wonderful When We Live Together In Harmony

Greetings Reader

How would you describe a church or family that lives in harmony?

I ran across an illustration that gives a great picture of what harmony looks like, and I included it in today's devotion. Think about a choir. Sopranos sing the high notes. Basses anchor the choir with the low notes. Tenors and altos fill in the middle with their own unique parts.

They aren't all singing the same notes, but they are all singing the same song. That's a wonderful picture of Christian harmony.

God never intended all of us to be exactly alike. We have different personalities, abilities, backgrounds, and preferences. Yet when we value Christ above our own preferences, those differences don't have to divide us. They can actually make the body of Christ stronger.

The Psalmist wrote, “How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!” Psalm 133:1

Whether in a church or a family, harmony doesn't require everyone to sing the same note. It requires us to follow the same Lord. Enjoy today's devotion as we look at how wonderful life can be when God's people live together in harmony.

God Bless,
Robin

When You Really Want to See Jesus Greetings Reader Zacchaeus had a problem. He wanted to see Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowd. So this wealthy chief tax collector did something rather undignified. He ran ahead and climbed a tree. “He tried to get a look at Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree beside the road, for Jesus was going to pass that way.” Luke 19:3–4 Zacchaeus was willing to overcome an obstacle just to...

Are You Fulfilling God’s Purpose for Your Life? Greetings Reader For several years, Cindy and I traveled from church to church as children’s evangelists. We carried puppets, visual stories, music equipment, and just about everything else we needed for our Kid’s Crusades. And it all had to fit into one van! I had packing that van down to a science. Everything had a particular container, and every container had a particular place. If things weren't loaded in the right order, they simply...

Praise Him, You Who Serve The Lord Greetings Reader Are you called to serve the Lord? If so, the Psalmist has a command for you in Psalm 135: “Praise the Lord! Praise the name of the Lord! Praise him, you who serve the Lord, you who serve in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God. Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; celebrate his lovely name with music.” Psalm 135:1–3 While God desires everyone’s praise, there is something special about the praise that comes from...
